Vendor Terms — eligibility, halal standards, listing accuracy, fulfilment, bookings, fees, returns, cancellations, suspension and governing law for sellers and service providers on MuzMarket.
Effective: 8 July 2026
These Vendor Terms ("Vendor Terms") govern your relationship with MuzMarket when you register and operate as a seller of products or a provider of services on muzmarket.com and the MuzMarket mobile apps (together, the "Platform"). By creating a vendor or provider account, listing products, accepting bookings, or fulfilling orders, you ("Vendor" or "Provider", "you") agree to these Vendor Terms together with our general Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Where the documents conflict on a vendor-specific point, these Vendor Terms prevail.
For the avoidance of doubt, "Vendor" in these Terms covers both product sellers and service providers unless a section explicitly applies to one only.
1. Eligibility & Account Approval
You must be a registered business or sole trader in the UK or EU and at least 18 years old.
You must provide accurate trading details, including legal name, contact email, phone number, and (where applicable) VAT number.
Vendor accounts go live once Stripe verification (identity and bank details) is complete — there is no separate pre-approval wait. MuzMarket reviews sellers and their listings on an ongoing basis and may suspend or remove any account or listing at its sole discretion.
For service providers, additional sector-specific documents may be required at onboarding — for example, public liability insurance (trades, in-home services, hijama, beauty, massage), an enhanced DBS check (childcare, tutoring), or recognised qualifications (e.g. Quran ijazah, hijama therapist registration).
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if your account is compromised.
2. Halal Standards & Certification
MuzMarket is a halal-friendly marketplace. Any product or service you list that you describe as "halal" must comply with halal requirements appropriate to its category. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of every halal claim you make.
Food and consumables: every food vendor must hold a valid halal certificate from a recognised certification body (HFA, HMC, HFFIA, JAKIM, MUI, ESMA and similar). We verify each certificate manually with the issuing body before activation.
Services: not all service categories require certification, but where you describe a service as halal-friendly (e.g. women-only salon, modest beauty, halal mortgage advice, riba-aware finance), the claim must be accurate.
You must produce supporting evidence — certificates, supplier statements, audit documents, qualifications — within seven (7) calendar days of a written request from MuzMarket. Failure to do so may result in delisting and suspension.
Knowingly false halal claims will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to the relevant certification body and regulators.
3. Listings — Products
All product listings must be accurate, complete, and not misleading. This includes title, description, ingredients, allergens, weight or volume, country of origin, and price (in GBP, inclusive of VAT where applicable).
Photos must be owned by you or properly licensed. By uploading content you grant MuzMarket a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, copy, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.
You must keep stock levels accurate. Repeatedly accepting orders for items you cannot fulfil may result in suspension.
Products must comply with all applicable UK laws, including labelling, food safety, and product safety legislation.
4. Listings — Services
Service listings must accurately describe what is provided, duration, location (at your premises, at the buyer's, or online), pricing model (flat, hourly, per-person, package), inclusions and exclusions, and any prep instructions the customer needs.
If you set halal-friendly attributes (e.g. female practitioner available, modest environment, private room available, prayer-time aware), those attributes must apply to every appointment booked under that listing.
Your availability must be kept current. Persistent declined bookings caused by stale availability may result in your services being deranked or suspended.
Travel charges (call-out fee, per-km rate, free radius) must be set fairly and disclosed before checkout — they will be shown to buyers on the service page.
5. Prohibited Items & Services
You may not list, sell, or attempt to sell:
Pork, alcohol (including alcohol-containing food and cosmetics not clearly disclosed), or any non-halal animal product;
Counterfeit, stolen, or otherwise illegal goods;
Expired, recalled, or unsafe goods;
Weapons, controlled substances, tobacco, vape products, or any item restricted under UK law;
Interest-bearing (riba) lending or any service that requires the customer to enter a non-halal financial product as a precondition;
Gambling-related products or services;
Services that promote, depict, or facilitate haram activity;
Anything that infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party.
MuzMarket may remove any listing at its sole discretion. Repeated violations may result in termination.
6. Orders & Fulfilment — Products
You must accept and dispatch orders within two (2) business days of order confirmation, unless your listing clearly states a longer lead time.
Orders over £20 must be shipped via a tracked carrier. Tracking numbers must be added to the order in your vendor dashboard at the point of dispatch.
You are responsible for safe and compliant packaging, including chilled-chain handling for perishable goods.
If you cannot fulfil an order, you must notify the customer (via the order chat) and refund within 48 hours.
7. Bookings & Fulfilment — Services
When a booking arrives, you have up to 24 hours to accept, decline, or propose a new time. A booking left unanswered past the 24-hour window auto-expires, the buyer's payment authorisation is released and they are refunded any amount taken. Repeated expiries may count against your account standing.
Once you accept, you must turn up at the agreed time and location and complete the service to a professional standard.
If you can no longer fulfil a booking, you must notify the customer through the booking chat as soon as possible. Provider-initiated cancellations within 4 hours of the appointment may count against your account standing.
You must mark each booking as Completed in your dashboard once the appointment finishes — this is what triggers the customer charge and your payout.
You must maintain valid insurance and any sector-specific certifications throughout your time on the Platform. Lapsed insurance or DBS will pause your listings until renewed.
8. Pricing, Fees & Payouts
You set your own prices. Prices must be in GBP, inclusive of VAT where you are VAT-registered.
Commission. MuzMarket charges a flat 6% commission on each completed sale or booking. There are no listing fees, monthly subscriptions, or tiered plans — every vendor pays the same rate.
Card processing at cost. In addition to commission, the card payment processing fee charged by Stripe is deducted from your payout at cost. MuzMarket does not mark up Stripe's fee — unlike some marketplaces. Stripe's UK rate is approximately 1.5% + 20p per transaction and is higher for overseas cards; the exact fee is set by Stripe.
Your payout is therefore the sale price, less the 6% commission and less the Stripe card processing fee, and less any refunds, chargebacks, and amounts owed to MuzMarket. Payouts are processed weekly via Stripe Express to the bank account linked in your Stripe Express profile, once funds have cleared.
Vendors must complete Stripe Express onboarding (ID verification and bank details) before payouts can be made; earnings are held until onboarding is complete. MuzMarket covers the Stripe Express payout transfer fee.
Refunds and processing fees. Where an order or booking is refunded, Stripe's card processing fee for the original payment is generally not returned to you by Stripe, and so is non-refundable.
Changes. MuzMarket may change the commission rate and how fees are applied on reasonable prior notice (see clause 14).
We can only onboard vendors in countries our Stripe Connect platform can pay automatically: the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States, Canada and Switzerland. Vendors elsewhere (including sanctioned territories) cannot currently be onboarded.
You are solely responsible for your own taxes (income tax, VAT, customs duties) and for issuing invoices where the law requires.
Your own gift cards (store credit). You may issue gift cards that are redeemable only against your own listings. These are funded by you: when a buyer redeems one, the redeemed value is netted from your payout (recorded as an amount owed to MuzMarket), because you are still paid on the gross price of the items sold. Treat a gift card you issue like a discount you are funding. Gift cards you issue must either not expire or stay valid for at least the legal minimum in the buyer's country (and never less than 5 years); MuzMarket enforces this minimum when you create a card. Site-wide "MuzMarket" gift cards are different — they are issued and funded by MuzMarket, not you, and you are paid in full when one is redeemed against your items.
9. Returns, Refunds, Cancellations & Disputes
Product returns: you must comply with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — including the customer's 14-day right to cancel for non-perishable goods and the obligation to refund faulty or misdescribed items.
Service cancellations: you set your own cancellation policy in your dashboard. It may be tiered — for example free to cancel well ahead of time, with a fee that increases closer to the appointment (e.g. 25%, 50%, then 100% of the service price). Any cancellation fee charged is paid to you, less our commission, to compensate for the reserved slot; no-shows are treated as the latest tier. Where a buyer cancels for free, or you cancel or cannot accept a booking, the buyer is refunded in full including the platform Service fee. You must keep your policy fair and honour it as displayed to the buyer at the time of booking; it always operates alongside the buyer's statutory rights.
You must respond to customer messages and refund requests within 48 hours. If you do not respond, MuzMarket may issue a refund on your behalf and deduct it from your next payout.
MuzMarket may step in to mediate disputes. Our mediation decision is binding for the purpose of releasing platform funds, without prejudice to your separate legal rights against the customer.
10. Intellectual Property
You warrant that you own, or have the right to use, all content you upload (text, photos, logos, certificates).
You may not copy listings, photos, or descriptions from another vendor or provider on the Platform.
"MuzMarket" and the MuzMarket logo are our trademarks. You may use them only as needed to identify your store as listing on the Platform, and you must not modify them.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
You may only use customer data shared with you (name, address, phone, order or booking details) to fulfil that customer's order or booking. You may not market to MuzMarket customers without their separate, explicit opt-in.
You must comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in handling customer personal data.
You must notify MuzMarket within 24 hours of any actual or suspected personal data breach affecting MuzMarket customers.
12. Suspension & Termination
You may close your vendor account at any time from your dashboard. Outstanding orders and bookings must be fulfilled or refunded before closure.
MuzMarket may suspend or terminate your account immediately for: breach of these Vendor Terms; fraudulent activity; false halal claims; repeated negative customer feedback; lapsed insurance or DBS for a service that requires it; non-payment of amounts owed; or where required by law.
On termination, any payouts owed to you will be released on the next normal payout cycle, less commission, refunds, and any sums you owe MuzMarket.
You may appeal a suspension by emailing [email protected] within 14 days of the decision.
13. Liability & Indemnity
MuzMarket operates a platform. The contract for the sale of goods or the supply of services is between you and the customer. You are solely liable for the legality, safety, accuracy, and quality of your products and services.
You agree to indemnify and hold MuzMarket harmless against any claim, loss, fine, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your products or services; your halal claims; your handling of customer data; or your breach of these Vendor Terms.
To the extent permitted by law, MuzMarket's aggregate liability to you under these Vendor Terms is limited to the commission we received from you in the 12 months before the claim arose.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Vendor Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and via the vendor dashboard at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Vendor Terms.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Vendor Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring proceedings against you in any other jurisdiction where you operate or hold assets.
16. Contact
For anything to do with your vendor or provider account, email [email protected].
